CEA Vietnam – Origins
Before opening in Myanmar CEA had researched the possibilities of opening a logistics base in Vietnam, however, at that juncture, the time wasn’t right to expand east. Now four years later Vietnam’s logistics infrastructure is set to surpass that of Thailand as the country becomes even more accommodating to foreign companies and investment than its ASEAN neighbours. The country’s geographical location makes it particularly advantageous to CEA as Vietnam’s coastline stretches for 3,200 km allowing access to the world’s major seaborne trade routes.
In 2015 planning and preparation began, with the new offices officially opening in June 2016. The new offices are fully equipped and ready to provide customers with sales, technical and administrative support. Ho Chi Minh, as the biggest city is considered to be the epicentre for business and is the ideal location for CEA to service current and future clients across the region.
Brett Malcolm the Director of CEA Vietnam has over 25 years’ experience in the logistics sectors including 16 years in the country. His diverse experience ranges from simple freight forwarding activity to large-scale heavy duty projects through Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
